Your Furnished Finder Questions Answered
What Is Furnished Finder?
If you’re wondering, “How does Furnished Finder work?”, listen up.
Furnished Finder is a mid-term rental platform that connects landlords and property owners with potential tenants looking for short-term housing.
The site specializes in people and families looking for stays of 30 days or longer.
To quote Furnished Finder:
Our traffic is not made up of tourists or those seeking vacation rentals but travel nurses and traveling professionals on work assignments who require at least one month of furnished housing. The average length of stay in our rentals is 90 days. 1
FurnishedFinder.com
Pretty much sums it up.
Is Furnished Finder Good?
If it isn’t clear to you yet, I love Furnished Finder.
They are my go-to resource when searching for travel nurse housing.
In fact, when I am looking at potential travel nurse contracts, I always look at the housing situation for that town on Furnished Finder to make sure there is adequate housing before I will seriously consider the job.
FF sets the bar on furnished, short-term housing in my mind.
Is Furnished Finder Safe?
In my experience, yes, Furnished Finder is safe and legitimate.
And I have only had good experiences on the platform.
The thing about this is that you have to be smart and trust your gut.
ALWAYS talk to the person on the phone and ask for a Facetime walk-through of the place.
If they’re nice and normal, this should be no problem.
If they’re giving you pushback, red flags should be going off in your brain.

Is Furnished Finder A Scam?
Are there scams on Furnished Finder?
YES.
But as I mentioned above, the key to not getting scammed by Furnished Finder is to trust your gut and do your do diligence.
The answer to the question though, “Is Furnished Finder a scam?”, is no.
Furnished Finder is not a scam.
How Does Furnished Finder Make Money?
The great thing about this website is that Furnished Finder makes money off of the property owners, not the people looking for housing.
Which is great news for us.
To quote FF again:
Furnished Finder only charges a one-time fee of $149 per property to be listed for one year, so many landlords who are unfamiliar with the service may wonder how the company can continue to operate. When you have over 200,000 properties listed at $149 a year, the math quickly adds up. Throw in the optional Owner Verification Badge and the optional add-on of paying the Furnished Finder team to market your home on your behalf, and you realize Furnished Finder is not short of resources and continues to devote its resources to helping both landlords and mid-term renters alike.2

The fact that property owners are required to pay to list their rental also helps keep scammers away as they usually aren’t willing to pay to scam someone.
Does Furnished Finder Charge Fees?
Furnished Finder only charges fees to the ones listing the properties.
There are also no fees put on to the renter, which is great.
Sites like Airbnb are notorious for passing fees along to the renter (me and you), which hikes up the amount that we pay.
Just another reason why I love Furnished Finder — they are fair to both the traveler and the property owner.

Does Furnished Finder Do Background Checks?
Yes, Furnished Finder does background checks on its property owners and people who want to list a place on the website.
This should make you feel more at ease about who you are renting from.
It is then up to the landlord if they want to do a background check on you as the renter.
What Are Other Sites Like Furnished Finder?
Furnished Finder is at the top of my 7 best travel nurse housing sites.
It also compares to AirBnb but with some differences.
Other sites I like include:
- National Corporate Housing
- Home Away
- Zillow
- VRBO
- Trulia
- Corporate Housing By Owner

I do recommend that you stay away from Craigslist.
I’d say 60% of the listings on there are scams — it’s just not worth it.
Can I Use Furnished Finder If I Have Pets?
Heck yes!
I travel with my two cats everywhere I go and it has never been a problem.
Property owners have the option of allowing pets or not on their listings.
So, if you travel with pets, I recommend selecting the filter showing listings that allow pets, and you’re set.
Conclusion
Hopefully this has answered all of your Furnished Finder questions.
I am no FF expert, but I have used their housing request platform a ton over the years and so I feel qualified to provide this information.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to contact or message/email me and I would love to chat!
