If you are considering working with the Medical Solutions travel nursing agency but want to know if they are good to work with or not, then keep reading.
As far as best travel nurse agencies go, I put Medical Solutions at the top of the list.
(Check out what my second best travel nursing agency is).
Side note — I am NOT being paid or rewarded/enticed in any way to write this.
This is a genuine article that I feel compelled to write.
If you’re wondering why you should listen to my opinion, it’s because I’m a career travel nurse and I have worked with many agencies, both good and bad.
Medical Solutions travel nursing was one of my favorite, trustworthy, and easiest times as a travel RN.
There is one caveat here – the key to finding a good travel agency is landing an awesome recruiter.
If you get yourself a bad, scammy, scuzzy recruiter, then you will not like Medical Solutions and you will have a bad experience.
This is why I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using my referral so you can make sure to land yourself with my exact recruiter.
But first…
Why Medical Solutions Travel Nursing Is The Best Travel Nurse Agency
I was with Medical Solutions for about a year and a half and only just recently left them due to exigent circumstances.
My travel nurse contract got canceled (nothing to do with the agency) and as I was scrambling to find a job (during a period when jobs were scarce) I had no choice but to take an assignment with a new agency.
But, while I was with them I had full confidence in my recruiter that I was getting the maximum rate and never felt as if money was being skimmed off the top.
As I said above, having a good experience with an agency is all about how good and how trusting your recruiter is.
My recruiter was just a genuine, down-to-earth, sassy momma-bear type who had my best interest at heart.
We would even sometimes have hour-long conversations just about life! (Not exaggerating here).
Besides my recruiter though, Medical Solutions does have some great benefits and attributes.
Here are some of them.
The Pay Rates
Let’s be honest here — money is a top deciding factor when deciding what travel nurse agency to work with.
And it is actually why I connected with them in the first place.
Whenever I am searching for a new contract, I always ask myself, “What travel nurse agency has the highest pay?”.
And every time, it was Medical Solutions.
Even when other agencies had job postings for the same exact hospital, MS rates would be considerably higher than the others.
If you are as financially driven as me, you will be very happy with what you find on the Medical Solutions site.
The Benefits
I honestly could not complain about the quality of my health insurance or the cost of it.
I even opted for the higher plan as I go to the doctor and get labs drawn regularly.
Besides insurance, they also offer retirement benefits (401K options) which is amazing.
After 90 days with them, you have the option of enrolling and they even match a percentage of what you contribute.
For a travel nursing agency, that is a pretty unique fine.
The Transparency
Everything from my contract down to my pay stub was detailed and fully disclosed.
If I ever had any questions about my paycheck or I thought I noticed something funky in my contract, I would be directed to the right person and get an answer immediately.
A lot of agencies bet on travelers not reading things thoroughly or not asking questions so they can skim money off the top (aka, take YOUR money) or sneak in a weird fee.
I encourage you to always ask questions about your contract, especially if it has to do with money.
The Reimbursements
Travel nursing reimbursements can cover things such as:
- Travel expenses to your next assignment
- Scrubs
- Certifications (BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC)
- Licenses (state nursing license renewal)
- Meals and housing (from your non-taxed government stipend)
And Medical Solutions covered all of these.
I do want to note that you must always ask.
If you don’t ask about a reimbursement, you might not get it.
That’s just the way the business works.
The Bonuses
For every 600 hours you work with the company, you get an extra $600 as a loyalty bonus in your paycheck.
If you do the math, this works out to getting a bonus about once every 4 months — if you stay with the company for multiple assignments.
You can verify the bonus here, on Medical Solutions’ website.
The Availability
My sweet angelic recruiter was always available.
Literally, it could be a Saturday night and she was still responding to my texts.
Recruiters usually follow M-F, business hours, so it was amazing having someone there when unforeseen things happened on a weekend.
How To Land A Good Recruiter
Hopefully you see that finding a good travel nurse agency has everything to do with the recruiter that you end up with.
99% of the time, this is left up to chance and just depends on who happens to see your contact information first.
BUT, if you want a chance to work with my recruiter, then I suggest you fill out the contact form linked below by clicking that button.
It’s just like any other contact form when you see an agency you want to work with, but this one directly connects you with my recruiter.
If you don’t want to do that, then I suggest checking out their website and current Medical Solutions job listings and then going from there.
Conclusion
Whether you go with my referral or not, I still think it is worth checking out Medical Solutions as your next travel nursing agency.
They have amazing benefits, reimbursements, transparency, and most importantly, high travel nurse pay rates.
If you ever have any questions about this or anything travel nurse-related, feel free to leave a comment or shoot me an email!
FAQ
What is the highest paying agency for travel nurses?
This question tends to be dependent on a case-to-case basis, but for the most part, I would have to say Medical Solutions is the highest-paying travel nurse agency right now. It’s one of the reasons why I started working with them.
Is travel nursing worth it anymore?
As a current travel nurse, I 100% say that it is still worth it. I still love receiving higher pay and living an unconventional lifestyle, moving around the country and exploring a new city and state every few months. For more on this topic, read, “Is Travel Nursing Still Worth It?“.
